A new generation of LM P3 from 2020

From 2020, the LM P3 prototypes will enter their second generation. Faced with the success of this formula created in 2015 (more than 150 cars produced, presence in European Le Mans Series, Asian Le Mans Series, Road to Le Mans, Michelin Le Mans Cup or even VdeV), the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) has decided to make some changes.

Developments will be dictated following five axes : cost control, ease of operation of the machine, modernization, guaranteed service to the teams and close competitiveness between the different car models. Four manufacturers will be able to manufacture LM P3 chassis between 2020 and 2014: Onroak Automotive – Ligier, Duqueine Automotive – Norma, Ginetta and Adess.

The next generation of LM P3 will stand out from the current LM P3 with a body kit, combined with an increase in power as well as enhanced cockpit safety. Prices for a second generation LM P3 and the kit will be communicated soon.

Future LMP3s will build on the basis of existing cars which will be equipped with a kit mainly aimed at improving engine power, driver safety in the cockpit, and allowing some changes to the bodywork.
