United Autosports no longer stood on the top step of the overall podium in a race ELMS since the final of the 2021 season, in Portimão. Phil Hanson and Tom Gamble won there alongside Jonathan Aberdein. The South African left for JOTA in WEC, it is with their compatriot Duncan Tappy that the two Britons found their way to success during the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, fifth and penultimate round of the 2022 season.

The No. 22 Oreca took advantage of an error Nicolas lapierre at the halfway point to take the lead in the race. Under pressure from Phil Hanson during a race restart after Full Course Yellow, the Frenchman actually missed his braking at the Source. Forced to return to the pits at the end of this lap, the No. 37 from COOL Racing lost all its chances of a first victory this season even though it had taken pole position the day before thanks to Yifei Ye. Starting from last position on the grid, the No. 43 Inter Europol Competition took second place with Pietro Fittipaldi, Fabio Scherer and David Heinemeier-Hansson.

For the championship, Prema and Panis Racing finished in third and fourth place. We will therefore have to wait for the final in the Algarve to designate the champions, where the Italian team will present themselves in Portugal with a 24-unit lead. The transalpine stand believed it could win the title until the very last moments, Louis Delétraz finishing in the wake of Pietro Fittipaldi.

Incredible scene in LM P2 Pro-Am where Racing Team Turkey (Salih Yoluc, Charlie Eastwood, Will Stevens) won on the line against AF Corse (François Perrodo, Alessio Rovera, Nicklas Nielsen) in a final attempt signed Will Stevens.

Kessel Racing dominates the Iron Dames

After a complicated start to the season, Inter Europol Competition scored a third success in a row in LM P3 with its trio Charles Crews, Nicolas Pino and Guilherme Oliveira. DKR Engineering (Sebastian Alvarez, Alexander Bukhantsov and Tom van Rompuy) took second place with the only Duqueine entered in this category. Anthony Wells and James Littlejohn completed the podium for Nielsen Racing.

The Iron Dames have long dominated the LM GTE category despite a big scare for Sarah Bovy. In the first hour, the Belgian narrowly avoided another Ferrari, that of Kessel Racing, in distress at the top of Raidillon. More fear than harm for the two cars which finished in the first two places. While Dorian Pin had completed her first stint in ELMS in first place, her teammate Michelle Gatting had to give up against her compatriot Mikkel Jensen. The one who also pilots for Peugeot in the Hypercar category in the World ChampionshipEndurance thus won alongside his teammates Conrad Grunewald and Frederik Schandorff. Andrew Haryanto, Martin Rump and Alessio Picariello completed the podium on the Porsche 911 RSR – 19 from Absolute Racing.
