At the relaunch of a Full Course Yellow, Dane Cameron (Porsche n°7) had to resist the assault of Jack Aitken (Cadillac n°31) to maintain the lead of the event taken during the neutralization. The old pilot Williams F1 (1 Grand Prix) finally managed to gain the upper hand around twenty minutes later, on the inside of the last corner.

Scott Dixon (Cadillac n°01) took advantage of the traffic to surprise Cameron in turn and allow the American manufacturer to place its two cars at the front of the race. The two V-Series.Rs from the Michigan (Detroit) firm immediately took off compared to the Porsche that won the 24 Hours of Daytona at the end of January.

LM P2

In LM P2, the No. 11 TDS Racing Oreca driven by the driver Peugeot Sport Mikkel Jensen leads the category. The Dane is pursued by the Frenchman Tom Dillmann (Inter Europol by PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports).

The only Ligier entered finished the 4th hour of the race stopped on the track.

Already damaged at the start of the race, the McLaren #9 of Pfaff Motorsport found itself idling after a collision with the #86 Porsche of MDK Motorsport with just over 8:30 remaining. James Hinchcliffe managed to bring the British manufacturer's GT3 back into the pit lane.

Far behind in the standings, the #3 Lamborghini Huracan GT2 EVO83 of the Iron Dames returned to the pits at a slow trot.
