GTP

The GTP hierarchy is once again respected, after two hours of racing. Cadillac took back control of the 24 Hours of Daytona with the No. 01, driven by Sébastien Bourdais. The Frenchman pulled off a magnificent pass from the outside on the No. 10 WTRAndretti Acura after the second Full Course Yellow to take the lead, before handing over the wheel to Scott Dixon.

Dave Cameron took over from Felipe Nasr in the Porsche No. 7, which is in second place ahead of the other Cadillac, the No. 31 of Jack Aitken. Apart from a minor excursion in the grass of the #24 BMW, nothing serious to report in the category. After starting in the No. 2 United Autorsports car, Ben Keating took the wheel of the JDC-Miller team's Porsche 963. The transition wasn't easy for the 52-year-old American, who lost four positions in the opening laps of his stint.

LM P2

Precisely, it is the No. 2 United Autorsports Oreca which leads the way in the LM P2 category, now driven by Nico Pino, ahead of the No. 52 Inter Europol Competition and the No. 04 Crowdstrike Racing. As the race reached the second hour, a new accident involved an LM P2: Steven Thomas lost control of his TDS Racing n°11 at the exit of the chicane. Le Mans, and hit the exterior wall at high speed, pulverizing his prototype in the process. Charles Milesi's teammate was unhurt, but the car is not expected to restart.

Daniel Goldburg also lost big with the United Autosports No. 22: victim of a track exit at the Horseshoe, the American broke the right rear suspension and had to return to his garage.

GTD / GTD Pro

New leader among GTs: it is now the McLaren #9 of the Pfaff Motorsports team which is in the lead in the GTD Pro, while Vasser Sullivan still leads the GTD category with the #12 Lexus, ahead of two Corvettes. Dorian Pin took the wheel of the #83 Lamborghini Iron Dames and is currently in 9th place in the GTD category.
