While BMW and Cadillac are preparing to reveal their LMDh, Acura has for its part revealed the first visuals of its future LMDh, called Acura ARX-06 and based on a chassis developed by the French manufacturer Oreca. This will participate in the GTP category of theIMSA from 2023.

“The process we used to create the exterior design of the Acura ARX-06 is exactly the same process used to create a new Acura passenger vehicle, says Dave Marek, executive creative director at Acura. The same world-class stylists who lead the design of Acura production cars created the first sketches, then narrowed them down to several potential designs. Next, we created a scale model, conducted aerodynamic and wind tunnel tests, and asked HPD and our partner teams for feedback. The design continued to be refined throughout the testing and evaluation process, until we arrived at a final treatment that met our performance goals while retaining important Acura styling cues. It was an exciting process. »

As announced in AUTOhebdo, the American firm will continue its collaborations with Wayne Taylor Racing and Meyer Shank Racing. His shakedown is scheduled for mid-July at the Paul-Ricard circuit.
