AFS/PR1 Mathiasen joins the Oreca clan

After having fielded a Ligier JS P217 since the 24 Hours of Daytona this season in IMSA, the stable AFS/PR1 Mathiasen will move to the Oreca clan for the last two rounds of the year at Laguna Seca (California), and Petit Le Mans (Georgia).

This change of chassis supplier will allow the structure of Bobby Oergel and Ray Mathiasen to prepare for the 2019 campaign, where the team will line up in the LM P2 class, which will be separated from the DPi, as recently announced by the series' governing bodies. American.

“We were able to purchase our new prototype in time to compete in Laguna Seca, our home event, and Road Atlanta,” comments Mathiasen.

This will give us the valuable experience we will need to prepare for 2019, giving Bobby and the crew the opportunity to return to the podiums once again. We couldn't be more excited for the rest of the season and next year. »

The best result for the team, the only one to enter a Ligier JS P217 full-time, this year remains a sixth place at Mid-Ohio.
