If 3GT Racing was at the forefront of the Lexus RC F GT3 entry in IMSA, Paul Gentilozzi's structure should not renew its presence with Japanese cars in 2019.
The entity AIM Vasser Sullivan, alliance between AIM Autosport, crowned in Grand-AM in 2012 in GTD, and the duo Jimmy Vasser – James Sullivan, who support Sébastien's entry Bourdais with Dale Coyne Racing in IndyCar, has confirmed a program in IMSA for the next season.
Two cars will be lined up for crews to be confirmed in the coming weeks. “Sulli and I are excited and eager to begin a new chapter in our competitive careers, Jimmy Vasser said.
I had driven sports cars before, but my career was pretty limited to the 24 Hours of Daytona, including a class win in 1992 and a second place in 2008. AIM Vasser Sullivan, with support from Lexus and our sponsors, has the tools to get the job done and we look forward to this new challenge. »
The Lexus RC F GT3, although it remains little distributed around the world, shone this year in Europe with the examples of Emil Frey Lexus Racing, including a victory at the 6 Hours of Paul Ricard in Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. 3GT Racing had two successes this year at Mid-Ohio and at VIRginia International Raceway in GTD.
