ALMS – The Vipers and Muscle Milk in good shape at Mosport

The fight promises to be very interesting in GT at Mosport, scene this weekend of the fifth meeting of the year of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). Jonathan Bomarito took the first pole position of his career in this category at the wheel of the No. 93 SRT Viper GTS-R which he shares with Kuno Wittmer. The former pilot of F1 Jan Magnussen, who teams with Antonio Garcia, qualified second in class aboard the No. 6 Corvette C1 ZR3. In 3rd place, we find the second Viper, the n°1, driven by Marc Goosens and Dominik Farnbacher.

In the LM P1, no surprises. Almost assured of winning the title at the end of the season, Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr once again took pole position aboard the No. 03 Muscle Milk Pickett Racing HPD ARX-6c. They beat Chris McMurry and Tony Burgess, lined up at the wheel of the No. 12 Dyson Racing Lola B60/16. In 3rd position in this category, we find the Deltawing n°0 shared by Andy Meyrick and Katherine Legge.

For his first participation in the ALMS, Mike Conway didn?t waste his time. Replacing Ryan Briscoe at Level 5 Motorsport, the Briton set the best time aboard the #03 HPD ARX-552b. This was faster than Marino Franchitti, who finished second in this category at the wheel of the #551. As a reminder, these two men share their car with their boss, Scott Tucker. Johannes van Overbeek completes the top 3 with the HPD ARX-03b n°02 from Extreme Speed ​​Motorsports which he shares with Ed Brown.
