ALMS – Road America: good fight ahead in LM P2 after qualifying

The American Le Mans Series (ALMS) does not stand out for the quality of its suspense in LM P1: as agreed, it was the HPD ARX-03c n°6 of Muscle Milk Pickett Racing which took pole position at Road America, thanks to a lap completed in 1?51??460 completed by Lucas Luhr.

In the LM P2, on the other hand, the fight promises to be fierce for this Sunday's race. Championship leader, Marino Franchitti, at the wheel of the HPD ARX-03b n°552, which he shares with his boss Scott Tucker and the Mexican Riciardo Gonzalez, achieved the best performance in the category in 1:54:806, offering thus a fourth pole position in a row for Level 5 Motosports. Just behind, we find the pair Scott Sharp – Guy Cosmo from Extreme Speed Motorsports on the #03 HPD ARX-01b. Associated with Scott Tucker, who races in two cars, in the HPD ARX-03c n°551, the French simon pagenaud finished 3rd in P2 with his time in 1:55:793.

In GT, just like at Mosport during the previous round in Canada, first place in qualifying went to the No. 93 SRT Viper GTS-R of the duo Jonathan Bomarito and Kuno Wittmer in 2:03:410, just ahead of the Jan’s Corvette C6 ZR1 n°3 Magnussen and Antonio Garcia. There Ferrari 458 Italia n°23 of Leh Keen and Towsend Bell completes the top 3.

IN LMPC, Colin Braun took his fourth pole in a row, the fifth of the year, aboard the No. 09 Oreca FLM05.
Spencer Pumpelly a engrangé de son côté la deuxième pole de sa saison à bord de la Porsche 911 GT3 CUP n°45 qu?il conduit avec Canache Jr.
