Briscoe and Dixon join Wayne Taylor Racing

The Wayne Taylor Racing team has revealed its drivers for the 2020 season of theImsa. In order to compensate for the departure of Jordan Taylor (left for Corvette Racing with the new C8.R), the American structure has recovered two sizes, as we announced to you in AUTOhebdo in October.

Left free of any contract by Ford after the end of the GT program, Ryan briscoe will in fact drive the Cadillac DPi-VR for the entire season. The Australian takes his former teammate and five-time IndyCar champion with him Scott Dixon, who will be requisitioned for long races (Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans).

The first objective of this duo from the Antipodes will be to defend the victory acquired by Wayne Taylor Racing at the 24 2019 Hours of Daytona. To achieve this, they will be able to count on the reinforcement of Kamui Kobayashi on this occasion.

The Japanese, already in the game with Fernando Alonso last winter, will be present thanks to the support of Japanese sponsor Konica Minolta. “I know that it is not easy to repeat the success next year, reconnaît le pilote officiel Toyota en WEC, but my teammates are very efficient. »

As for Renger van der Zande remains one of the two starting drivers. « I am delighted to continue with the team, says the Dutchman. I think we have built a great relationship over the last two years (with seven podiums and two successes. Editor’s note.) »
