Stable calendar in 2018, arrival of a Sprint Cup in GTD

Twelve rounds identical to 2018. Here is the 2019 calendar program of theIMSA, which is renewing a program similar to that of last year. The cutting-edge categories of DPi and LM P2 (separated from next year) will be able to count on a schedule of 10 races, when the GTLM class will be able to benefit from eleven races, compared to ten in the GTD.

The Daytona double-clock will traditionally open the season, following official testing at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 earlier in January. The Florida event will still count for the Michelin Endurance Cup (new name of the North American Endurance Cup) with Sebring, Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans. Note that the dates are kept from 2018.

A Sprint Cup awarded in GTD

The main novelty of the 2019 calendar will be the introduction of a Sprint Cup classification for the GTD category. Seven races will be included in this ranking (Mid Ohio, Belle Isle, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Lime Rock Park, Road America, VIR and Laguna Seca), and will use the same points system as the overall GTD championship.

Teams of two drivers will be made up of a Bronze or Silver competitor lined up alongside a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum teammate.
