Daytona: Acura leads at mid-race, the French trio offside

The end of a French dream. Leader of the 24 Hours of Daytona after the first six hours, the 100% French Cadillac of JDC Miller driven by Loic duval, Tristan Vautier and Sébastien Bourdais lost everything at the start of the tenth hour. While braking for the first turn, Tristan Vautier was hit by a GTD in distress and then hit a second one which damaged the Cadillac at the front. Returning to her box, she was only able to leave with around fifty laps behind.

This tricolor disappointment added to the small mechanical problems of the only Mazda entered leaves five Dpi in the running for victory. At mid-race, it's the Acura of Wayne Taylor Racing (Albuquerque, Taylor, Red, Castroneves) who leads the way, just ahead of three Cadillacs and the second Acura.

In LMP2, the No. 11 Oreca from Win Autosport leads the way in the hands of Tristan Nunez, Thomas Merrill, Steven Thomas and Matthew Bell ahead of the Dallara from Cetilar Racing. The two regularly exchange positions. The main victim at the start of the race was the Racing Team Nederland car which ran into the wall at the start of the third hour, driven by Frits Van Eerd. Five cars are on the same lap.

In GTLM, as expected, the two Corvettes took the upper hand, led by the No. 4 of Nick Tandy, Alexander Sims, Tommy Milner. Antonio Garcia, Jordan Taylor, Nicky Catsburg), but only the Porsche WeatherTech's 911 RSR is out of contention for victory, due to a collision at the start.

In GTD, it is Mercedes-AMG GT3 from HTP Winward Motorsport which took the lead in the hands of Russell Ward, Indy Dontje, Philip Ellis and Maro Engel. Eight cars sail on the same lap.
