Felipe Nasr will not participate in the resumption of theIMSA this weekend in Daytona (Florida). The Action Express Racing driver entered in a Cadillac DPi tested positive for Covid-19 a few hours before the race this Friday morning. It will be Gabby Chaves who will replace the former Sauber driver F1 alongside Luis Felipe Derani.
“I feel like I did everything right, commented the 27-year-old Brazilian. I've been in Miami for a month and have stayed away from anyone involved in motorsport. I took my test before meeting anyone at the circuit or with my team. Unfortunately, the result is positive. »
“I want everyone to stay safe, underlined Felipe Nasr. So I'm going to come back to Miami to stay in quarantine. I hope to recover quickly so that the doctors will allow me to get back behind the wheel quickly. I will follow the instructions and recommendations of the medical staff, my team and the IMSA organizers. »
Felipe Nasr took 7th place in the 24 Hours of Daytona last January with “Pipo” Derani and Mike conway. The Brazilian is one of the many victims of Covid-19 in the USA with nearly 3 million cases recorded.
