Filipe Albuquerque completes the Action Express crew for 2020

Just a few hours after making it official the move to a single Cadillac DPi-VR for 2020 en IMSA with the duo Pipo Derani – Felipe Nasr, Action Express Racing has confirmed the name of the third driver who will support the Brazilians during the rounds Endurance : Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans.

Filipe Albuquerque, who drove the No. 5 Cadillac this year full-time with Joao Barbosa, will remain involved in the Action Express Racing program by joining the No. 31 car supported by Whelen Engineering.

“It was a great opportunity to drive with Joao (Barbosa) and Christian (Fittipaldi) and represent Mustang Sampling (sponsor of the #5) over the past few years, specifies the Portuguese.

I understand that the team's business situation has changed and we are all adjusting for new projects. It will be different for me to compete in endurance events again, but the team is already working hard to bring the No. 5 car back full time. »

Albuquerque therefore maintains an American program, in addition to its commitment to WEC at United Autosports. The winner of the 24 2018 Hours of Daytona is also racing in ELMS with the British team in 2019.
