Jules Gounon is preparing for a busy 2023 season. Recently extended as official pilot of Mercedes with whom he notably won the 24 Hours of Spa and the 12 Hours of Bathurst this year, the Ardéchois will return to theIMSA next year but this time full time.

The Habs have indeed been confirmed among the 4 drivers of the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT79 from WeatherTech Racing for the next 24 Hours of Daytona (January 28-29) in GTD Pro. In Florida, Jules Gounon will meet an old acquaintance in the person of Daniel Juncadella, one of his teammates during his triumph in the Ardennes and with whom he will compete for the entire 2023 IMSA season. The Franco-Spanish duo will be supported by Maro Engel who will return for all the other rounds ofEndurance and by Cooper MacNeil who would later take on more of a team management role. As far as operational matters are concerned, Proton Competition will once again take care of it.

« I am grateful to Cooper and David MacNeil for trusting Dani and I to take over the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT79 in the GTD Pro class in 2023, points the French pilot. We will give everything to place her at the front but also to obtain a nice trophy at the end of the year. I think the line-up we have with Dani and Maro is very strong, and we will be very good with Cooper at Daytona as well. We are all compatible in different areas. We really are a great team. I really enjoy their company and I'm looking forward to a great year »
