IMSA – Acura and Team Penske, it’s over!

Associates since the start of the 2018 season in IMSA SportsCar Championship, Acura and Team Penske did not obtain the results hoped for. Certainly, the American-Japanese association won the Teams and Drivers titles (Juan Pablo Montoya-Dane Cameron) last year, but it did not manage to sign the slightest victory in one of the three great classics, know in Petit Le Mans, the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona, which was certainly one of his main objectives.

Not too late will you tell us? Certainly, but he will have to hurry. Indeed, according to our information, Acura and Team Penske will end their union at the end of the current season, which will end on November 14 with the 68th edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring, scheduled for March but postponed due to the Coronavirus crisis.

For the future, there are still many unknowns. Will we see the ARX-05A again? We hope. Will Team Penske team up with another manufacturer in order to satisfy its dreams of victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with an LMDh? We must also hope so, but given the declarations of the various interested parties, it is a safe bet that their history in Endurance – and mainly in IMSA – is far from over.
