IMSA – Alex Lynn feels strong after Sebring testing

Alex Lynn replaced Ricky Taylor this Thursday February 23 during the first of two days of testing for theIMSA in Sebring (Florida), the usual resident of Wayne Taylor Racing having been selected by an invitation from Team Penske to test theIndyCar in Homestead-Miami.

The 2014 GP3 Series champion was able to make his mark on the Cadillac DPi-VR that won the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) last January with which he will participate in the 12 Hours of Sebring (March 17-18) and Petit Le Mans (October 6-7) replacing Max Angelelli. The Briton has already driven an LMP2 while defending the interests of Manor in WEC last year with an Oreca 05.

“There was a lot to learn in one day, admitted Alex Lynn who competed in the GP2 Series last year with Dams. Despite everything, the day was positive. I paid close attention to the advice of the engineers and Jordan (Taylor), who was a valuable teammate. »

Alex Lynn made a promising first step in the No. 10 Cadillac DPi-VR, finishing less than a second behind teammate Jordan Taylor despite having never driven this prototype and the Sebring circuit before.

“Learning is quite easy on these machines because they are very powerful and offer a lot of aero downforce. They have a bit the same behavior of a car or even an LMP1 and I think my experience will be very useful to me”, added the 23-year-old Briton.
