IMSA – Corvette retains its lines for 2017

After a 2016 season marked by the Drivers, Teams and Manufacturers titles in the GTLM category, Corvette racing confirmed this Wednesday to line up the same crews for the next year in the championship IMSA.

Outgoing champions, Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin will defend their title acquired a few months ago in the No. 7 C4.R and will aim to repeat an almost perfect campaign, marked in particular by victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) and the 12 Hours of Sebring (Florida).

“The mindset and motivation are there for everyone at Corvette, Gavin mentions. We want to start 2017 the way we finished 2016: at the front, leading the big races and fighting for victories. This must be our goal. This is what everyone on our team is aiming for. »

To Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen aligned with the C7.R n°3, the goal will be to regain a title which has eluded the duo since the days of the American Le Mans Series in 2013. “Jan and I have been in contention for wins and championships since 2013, comments Garcia.

Unfortunately, the GTLM title in 2014 and 2015 eluded us, and we were unlucky at the start of 2016. After finishing 3rd in the last three seasons, it is time for us to have a good season and achieve strong results, as the No. 4 Corvette crew did in 2016. We look forward to competing and winning for Corvette Racing and Chevrolet. »
