IMSA – Corvette on the front row at the Michelin GT Challenge

The Corvette C7Rs confirmed their good performance in testing by dominating qualifying for the Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway where only the GTLMs and GTDs made the trip. Jan Magnussen won pole in the No. 3 with a lap completed in 1'41''557 while preceding Tommy Milner's sister car by 11 thousandths.

Joey Hand placed the first Ford GT in third place, two tenths off the benchmark and ahead of the Ferrari 488 n°62 by Giancarlo Fisichella. The Italian preceded the BMW M6s of John Edwards and Dirk Werner who finished more than six tenths behind the best time. Nick Tandy placed first Porsche 911 RSR in seventh, while Frédéric Makowiecki completed the GTLM class list behind the No. 67 Ford GT of Richard Westbrook.

In GTD, pole went to Madison Snow in the No. 48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan.
