IMSA – Corvette keeps Rockenfeller and Fässler in support

Corvette Racing is banking on stability in 2017 since the American team will once again call on Mike Rockenfeller and Marcel Fässler for the first two rounds of theIMSA and the NAEC, the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring (Florida).

The former champion of DTM will evolve again with Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen on the No. 7 C3R while the three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will join Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin on the #4.

“I was very happy to get back behind the wheel of a GT last year and the Corvette C7R did not disappoint, commented Mike Rockenfeller also confirmed in Audi's DTM program. I can't wait to return to Daytona and Sebring where we were very competitive in the No. 3. The fight is very close among many manufacturers competing in GTLM. You have to be good at everything and that's why Corvette Racing and Chevrolet have had so much success in GT. »

Corvette Racing distinguished itself at the 24 2016 Hours of Daytona by signing a double in GTLM with the victory of Favin-Milner-Fässler who narrowly won ahead of the sister car of Garcia-Magnussen-Rockenfeller.

“This will be my 2nd entry at Daytona and I hope to achieve a second success there, commented the Swiss. We were able to win both races last year and the success at Daytona was particularly exciting, especially after struggling so much in the last two hours when we didn't know which Corvette was going to win. »

The two crews will meet for two days of official testing in IMSA this Tuesday December 13 and Wednesday December 14 at Daytona.
