IMSA – Felipe Nasr takes part in the Roar qualifying session

Felipe Nasr was the best in the second session of the day at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 at Daytona, which determined the pit lane locations for the next 24 Hours.

IMSA – Felipe Nasr takes part in the Roar qualifying session

First “qualifying” session of the year in IMSA, the second session of the day on the Florida circuit of Daytona as part of the Roar Before the Rolex 24 aimed to determine the locations in the pit lane and in the garages for the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 27-28).

At the end of the allotted time, it is the Brazilian Felipe Nasr, former Sauber driver F1, who put the No. 31 Cadillac DPi-VR – Whelen Engineering / Action Express Racing, at the forefront with a best time of 1'35″806.

The South American precedes Tristan Vautier, still in spirit at the wheel of the No. 90 Cadillac DPi-VR of the Spirit of Daytona, and who fails at 231 thousandths.

The two other Cadillac DPi-VR #5 – Mustang Sampling / Action Express Racing and #10 – Wayne Taylor Racing complete the top 4 and remain the only cars within the same second.

Dane Cameron, associated with simon pagenaud and Juan Pablo Montoya in the No. 6 Acura DPi – Acura Team Penske ranks 5th at 1″182 ahead of the No. 7 sister car of Castroneves – R. Taylor – Rahal.

Pipo Derani places the first Nissan DPi n°22 – ESM in seventh place ahead of the first Mazda RT24-P of Mazda Team Joest and the first Oreca 07 in the ranking, the n°78 of Jackie Chan DC Racing of Tung – Felix da Costa – Habsburg–Brundle. Fernando Alonso places the No. 217 Ligier JS P23 – United Autosports in 12th position, 1″709 behind leader Nasr.

In GTLM, Ford signed the best performance of the peloton with the n°66 of Hand – Müller – Bourdais, Hand completing a benchmark time in 1'43″610. Oliver Gavin failed by 30 thousandths with his No. 7 Corvette C4.R shared with Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler.

Le trio Briscoe – Westbrook – Dixon (Ford GT n°67) suit au classement devant la première Porsche 911 RSR n°912 de Vanthoor – Bamber – Bruni.

Mirko Bortolotti dominated the GTD session with the #3 Lamborghini Huracan GT11 – GRT in 1’47″374. Note that the Porsche 911 RSR n°911 of Pilet – Makowiecki – Tandy, the Porsche 911 GT3 R n°59 – Manthey Racing and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 n°48 – Paul Miller Racing did not take part in the session.
