IMSA – Grasser Racing Team with two crews at Daytona

Grasser Racing will compete for the first time in the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) on January 28 and 29 by entering two Lamborghini Huracan GT3s in the GTD category.

The Austrian team will field Rolf Ineichen, Christian Engelhart and Mirko Bortolotti, winners at the 4 Hours of Nürburgring as part of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, who will be joined by the Argentinian Ezequil Companc, winner of the Amateur class of Ferrari Challenge Europa Trofeo Pirelli on the first car. Christian Engelhart and Rolf Ineichen will also be entered in the second car along with two other drivers who have not yet been announced.

The Grasser Racing Team's American projects in America do not stop there since a car will remain in Florida to compete in the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 18. The team plans to compete in the other two NAEC events, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen in New York state on July 2 and Petit Le Mans in Georgia on the weekend of October 7 if the results of the first two tests are positive.

“It’s a childhood dream come true., rejoiced Gottfried Grasser, director of the team of the same name. I was already adamant at the start of the year that we would be there in 2017. It will be a tough race with many new manufacturers like Lexus, Honda and Mercedes, but we remain confident. The event will be fantastic and I am sure we will have a good chance to shine with Lamborghini. »

The Grasser Racing Team, which has already participated in a test session on December 13 and 14, will logically be present at the Roar Daytona Test from January 6 to 8. The Austrian team will also compete in the 24 Hours of Dubai on January 13 and 14.
