IMSA – Mustang Sampling Racing on pole in Detroit

The Mustang Sampling Racing Corvette DPi led by Christian Fittipaldi and Joao Barbosa will start from pole in the event of theIMSA in Detroit (Michigan) contested on the Belle Isle circuit.

Qualifying was suspended following the accident of Ricky Taylor, the Championship leader with Jordan Taylor, who went off the track in the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing car. This accident caused a red flag 5 minutes from the end of the session which did not reach the minimum time of 10 minutes to make it official.

The grid was therefore established according to the Championship rankings, but the Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi will have to start from the back of the grid after causing the red flag. The No. 31 of Cameron-Curran of Whelen Engineering Racing completes the front row ahead of the Oreca 07 of Goikhberg-Simpson of JDC Miller Motorsports and the No. 2 Ligier-Nissan ESM of Sharp-Dalziel.
