IMSA – Wayne Taylor Racing on pole at Motorsport Park

Ricky Taylor placed the Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi on pole for the Mobil1 Sportscar Grand Prix held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Dirk Werner took pole for Porsche in GTLM.

IMSA – Wayne Taylor Racing on pole at Motorsport Park

Ricky Taylor took his third pole of the season in IMSA by winning the Mobil1 Sportscar Grand Prix qualifying held at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The Championship leader set a time of 1'08''459 in the No. 10 Cadillac DPi, beating the No. 07 JDC-Miller Motorsports Oreca 85 driven by Mikhail Goikhberg by a tenth.

Scott Sharp completed the top three in the #2 ESM Nissan DPi, ahead of the sister car of Johannes van Overbeek. The #24 Mazda RT55-P of Jonathan Bomarito completes the top five ahead of the #5 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi driven by Christian Fittipaldi victorious in her last outing at Watkins Glen (New York) earlier this month.

 

 

In GTLM, pole went to Dirk Werner with a time of 1'14''085 on the Porsche 911 RSR No. 911 which he shares with Patrick Pilet and which beat the No. 18 BMW M6 GTLM of Bill Auberlen by 25 thousandths. Laurens Vanthoor placed the second official Porsche in 3rd place in the category ahead of the second Propeller car entrusted to Martin Tomczyk who preceded the Ford GTs of Ryan Briscoe and Joey Hand.

James French won his 5th pole in 6 races in the PC category with a lap completed in 1'11''471 in the No. 26 of Bar1 Motorsports. In GTD, it was Sage Karam who was the most efficient with a time of 1'16''563 in the No. 3 Lexus RC F GT14 of 3GT Racing. Alon-Hawsworth's sister car did not take part in qualifying following its accident in practice.
