IMSA – Wayne Taylor Racing continues its winning streak in Texas

La No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-VR never stops imposing its domination in IMSA Sportscar Championship in 2017. Winners of the first three rounds of Daytona, Sebring and Long Beach, the brothers Jordan and Ricky Taylor added another success to their record last night, winning the Austin race in Texas.

No one came to challenge the domination of the American prototype which, despite being neutralized in the final minutes after the start of a fire on the No. 2 – ESM Ligier DPi of Ryan Dalziel, then 3rd, concluded with a lead of almost 19 ″ on the No. 31 Cadillac Dpi-VR – Action Express Racing of Eric Curran and Dane Cameron.

After the fire on the No. 2 Ligier, the last step of the podium went to Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi, in the second Cadillac – Action Express Racing.

The #85 Oreca – JDC-Miller Motorsports of Goikhberg – Simpson and the second #2 Ligier DPi – ESM of Van Overbeek – Brown complete the top 5. In PC, Performance Tech Motorsports continued the momentum of testing and qualifying by dominating the race with the #09 Oreca FLM38 of French – O'Ward.

Corvette passes the third

After the victories at Sebring and Long Beach, Corvette racing pocketed a third consecutive success in 2017 in IMSA, with Garcia’s No. 3 – Magnussen.

The duo emerged unscathed from the chaos of the first corner of the first lap, where a collective collision involved a number of GTLMs, notably the Ferrari 488 n°62 – Risi Competizione, et la Ford GT n°67 du Chip Ganassi Racing, la Porsche 911 RSR n°912, et la Corvette C7.R n°4.

Shortly before halfway, the #3 Corvette took control of the race and would not let go until the finish, and was ahead of the two BMW M6 – Team RLL #25 from Auberlen – Sims and n °24 from Edwards–Tomczyk.

Patrick Pilet and Dirk Werner placed the first #911 Porsche 911 RSR in fourth place ahead of the #66 Ford GT of Müller – Hand.

In GTD, Mercedes also achieves a third consecutive success with the victory for the AMG GT3 n°33 – Riley Motorsports de Bleekemolen – Keating, which ultimately beats the No. 488 Ferrari 3 GT63 – Scuderia Corsa of Nielsen – Balzan, and the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT75 – SunEnergy1 Racing of Vautier – Habul.

Mathieu Jaminet, author of the pole with the No. 911 Porsche 3 GT28 R – Alegra Motorsports, finished 7th with his teammate Daniel Morad.
