This is not the first time that Jerry Bruckheimer has visited Daytona, since he filmed parts of the film “Days of Thunder” there in 1990, on the occasion of that year’s Daytona 500. “Jerry Bruckheimer has produced some of the most entertaining, action-packed films and shows of recent decades, underlines Frank Kelleher, president of Daytona International Speedway. Whether it's fast cars, high-flying jets or frenetic foot races, his work reflects the energy we'll see at the 24 Hours of Daytona, making him the perfect grand marshal for the race of this year. »
“Daytona International Speedway is an iconic venue and it will be an honor to take command of the 24 Hours of Daytona, says Jerry Bruckheimer. I attended the biggest race in NASCAR and I look forward to experiencing one of the most prestigious sports car races in the world. »
