IMSA will not travel to Watkins Glen in 2020

Michelin pillar handle Endurance Cup for several years, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen (New York), scheduled from September 4 to 6, is paying the price for the new reshuffling of the calendar carried out by theIMSA these last hours.

The event will thus be replaced by a race of the same duration and on the same dates, but on the Road Atlanta track (Georgia). The legendary American track will therefore host two Endurance Cup races in 2020, since Petit Le Mans (10 a.m.) is still on the calendar from October 14 to 17.

The other change in the calendar concerns the Lime Rock Park round (September 11-12), reserved for GTLM and GTD, and which changes location and date, since the Roval in Charlotte (North Carolina) will be the scene of a 100-minute race on the sidelines of the meeting Nascar October 9 and 10.

These changes were made against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, the spread of which remains significant on the other side of the Atlantic. IMSA still reserves the right to modify its schedule depending on the evolution of the situation.
