IMSA publishes BOP for the 24 hours of Daytona

One week before the 24 Hours of Daytona which will launch the 2017 season of theIMSA, the organizers of the Championship have published the Balance of Performance for the 4 categories.

As for the Prototypes, the Nissan Onroak DPi has seen its turbo ratio increase as well as a fuel tank increased by 5l (2l for the Mazda RT24-P). All Prototypes except the Ligier JSP217 and the Oreca 07 received aero adjustments.

The PCs will see their tank decrease by 5l and will see their fuel intake flow reduced during refueling.

The changes are minor in GTLM. The turbo has been slightly reduced on the Ferrari 488 GTE.

The changes are a little more significant in GTD. The Acura NSX GT3 loses 20kg and gains an additional 8l in its tank. L'Aston Martin Vantage GT3 loses 10kg and sees its intake flange increase by 0,8mm.

Conversely, the Audi R8 LMS will be penalized by a flange reduced by 1mm, while the Ferrari 488 GT3 will be weighed down by 10kg although benefiting from a slightly more favorable turbo ratio. The Porsche 911 GT3 R and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 will also gain 10kg by being braked by a flange reduced by 1mm. There Mercedes-AMG GT3 will even be slowed down by a flange reduced by 1,5mm.
