Detroit Grand Prix extends to Belle Isle

Unmissable event of theIMSA and IndyCar TV Shows (also constituting the last double-header on the calendar), the Detroit round will once again be organized on the Belle Isle track for the next three years.

An extension of two additional years was included as an option in the contract made public by IMSA officials this Friday.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources, which manages Belle Isle Park, has achieved that the event will further reduce its impact on the park, particularly in terms of days spent on site, including construction and dismantling of infrastructure, which will increase to 60 days in 2019 and 59 in 2020 and 2021.

The Grand Prix will also have to pay an additional 450 dollars (000 euros) per year, including a 393 dollars (900 euros) contribution to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for project specific to the park.

The 2019 edition will take place from May 31 to June 2.
