Tom Blomqvist didn't really have time to celebrate his title won in IMSA after the victory of Meyer Shank Racing during the 25th edition of Petit Le Mans, Saturday October 1st. After a day off on Sunday, the 28-year-old British-Swede returned to the Road Atlanta (Georgia) track on Monday. He shares the wheel of the new Acura ARX-06 bearing the number 60 with Matt McMurry, engineer-driver who had already driven the LMDh of the North American branch of Honda during its first runs with Wayne Taylor Racing.

“We had a minor accident on the No. 06 Meyer Shank Racing ARX-60 GTP Monday afternoon during testing at Road Atlanta”, the premium Honda brand confirmed to us.

Contacted by AUTOhebdo, Acura assured us that Tom Blomqvist was not injured during this accident. A runway exit not resulting from a pilot error. “The cause is a component failure on the rear suspension, and countermeasures have been put in place to avoid this problem in the future. » The LMDh has only known “minor damage” and has since returned to the track to continue testing.
