Michael Shank Racing reveals its drivers for Daytona

Michael Shank Racing will once again field two Ford-Rileys at the 24 Hours of Daytona. The No. 60 will be driven by John Pew, AJ Allmendinger and Justin Wilson who won last year. Oswaldo Negri is also on the list but could be replaced by Marcos Ambrose, with the Brazilian suffering from a leg injury. The pilot Nascar is also present this week to compete in the Roar before the 24. The team will make its final decision later. The No. 6 Ford-Riley will retain Gustavo Yacaman and Jorge Goncalvez who put the Daytona Prototype on the podium last year. Michael Valiante and Chris Cumming will complete the crew.

“I am very proud of these crews and I believe we have another opportunity to do well with both cars”, comments Michael Shank, director of the eponymous team. “I’m delighted to see Michael (Valiante) again as is Chris Cumming. They both did some testing with us last December and did a fantastic job. We will aim for the same result as that obtained last year. I want victory every time. It would be strange to reproduce this performance because I think it would be very difficult to achieve but we have very efficient cars. Our pilots know us very well. Almost all of my competitors have been with me for quite a while. We have the right combination to win the event, we just need to avoid problems. »
