Back in the premier categoryIMSA, Meyer Shank Racing is not unworthy. Fourth in the 24 Hours of Daytona at the end of January for her debut with the Acura ARX-05, she took third place at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March.
A podium with a bitter taste, for the simple reason that the No. 60 of Olivier Pla-Dane Cameron-Juan Pablo Montoya could have won without a final refueling mess.
This weekend, it is on home soil, in Ohio, that the third round of the IMSA is being held, the first of the year offering a 2h40 sprint format. And what's better than a home race to unlock your victory counter?
« I can't wait to ride at Mid-Ohio, especially because it will be a first for me on this track, Olivier Pla said. But we had the opportunity to test here, so much so that I had the chance to learn the track, which I like. Third place at Sebring was a good result, but we want more. »
His teammate Dane Cameron, who scored two podiums on the Lexington circuit with the Acura ARX-05 (winner in 2019 and 2nd in 2018 with Team Penske), assures for his part that “ Mid-Ohio should be a place that will allow us to continue the momentum started by our Sebring podium. I know that the ARX-05 is at ease on this track, and I therefore see a good opportunity to score our first victory. »
The first free practice session is scheduled for today, Friday May 14, at 22:30 p.m. French time.
