Line-up change for the 2020 season finale in IMSA à Sebring ce week-end du côté de Porsche en GTLM.

Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell, usual third men alongside the pairs Earl Bamber – Laurens Vanthoor and Frédéric Makowiecki – Nick Tandy, being retained in GT World Challenge Europe at Paul Ricard, Neel Jani was called up to ride on #912 with Vanthoor and Bamber.

There will be no new face on the No. 911, however, since “Mako” and Nick Tandy will see Earl Bamber supporting them for the event.

Jani will discover GT with this race, he who notably officiated with the German brand in WEC in LM P1, but also in Formula E. “I did several days of testing in the Porsche 911 RSR, but it will be a bit of a dive into the unknown, underlines the Swiss.

I have never competed in a GT race before. I will have a lot to learn in a very short time during the Sebring weekend. Most notably, from a GT driver's perspective, I'm not familiar with traffic.

On the other hand, I know the track well, I have driven prototypes there several times and I got on the podium in 2013 (in ALMS with the Lola B12 – Rebellion Racing).

Four years later, I took pole position in an LM P2 car (Rebellion again, this time with the Oreca 07), beating all the DPi vehicles. » A presence which could also hide a dress rehearsal for a possible arrival of Jani in the WEC in 2021 with Weissach.
