Petit Le Mans – Victory for Wayne Taylor Racing in the final moments

This is what we call a stroke of luck, if not more. Third with ten minutes to go, the van der Zande-Briscoe-Dixon crew won the Petit Le Mans. They can especially thank Ricky Taylor (Acura ARX-05 No. 7 from Team Acura Penske).

Stuck in the exhausts of Pipo Derani (N°31 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-VR), the driver of the N°7 attempted a daring overtake in turn 6. Unfortunately, the action did not go as planned and Ricky Taylor crashed into his rival. The two men then made mistakes, leaving Renger van der Zande to take control of the race.

With only 10 minutes remaining, things didn't move any further and Wayne Taylor Racing took the victory at Petit Le Mans ahead of the No. 05 Acura ARX-7 (Red-Castroneves-Taylor) and No. 6 (Montoya-Cameron-Pagenaud) of Team Acura Penske.

In LMP2, victory went to the Farano-Jensen-van Uitert team from Tower Motorsport. The No. 07 Oreca 8 took advantage of the suspension failure of the No. 52 of Mathiasen Motorsports two hours from the finish to take the lead and go to the end. McGuire-Bell-Braun (Performance Tech Motorsports) and McCusker-Smiechowski-Hodes (Inter Europol Competition) complete the podium.

In GTD, it is Team Corsica and its N°488 Ferrari 3 GT63 (MacNeil-Balzan-Westphal) which won. The crew beat the No. 3 Lexus RC F GT14 of AIM Vasser Sullivan by just over a second and the No. 3 Lamborghini Huracan GT44 of GRT Magnun by just over 3 seconds.
