Only the No. 55 Mazda of Jonathan Bomarito, Harry Tincknell, Ryan Hunter-Reay avoided trouble; quite logically, she was the first under the Florida checkered flag.

“This is what I always dreamed of, rejoiced Harry Tincknell, already winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LM P2. With 20 minutes to go, I took the lead after my teammate Oliver Jarvis suffered a puncture. I gave everything I had, I attacked like hell. »

The Mazda n°77, notably that of the Frenchman Olivier Pla, settles for third place. The first Frenchman classified is simon pagenaud with the Acura of Juan Pablo Montoya and Dane Cameron.

Sébastien’s 100% French Cadillac DPi Bourdais, Tristan Vautier and Loïc duval settles for fifth place.

The title paradoxically goes to the last ranked in DPi, Helio Castroneves, Ricky Taylor and Alexander Red. The polemen were put offside for victory after a turbo failure in the first hour but rallied to finish in eighth place.

“In racing, anything is possible, said Helio Castroneves. We started the season without points and suddenly we were fighting for the championship. »
