Sebring: Peugeot will start in the lead

It is no surprise that Peugeot, which has been at the top of the timesheet at Sebring since the start of testing, did the double during qualifying. It was Marc Gené, at the wheel of the #908 07 HDi FAP, who took pole.

Sebring: Peugeot will start in the lead

It only took four laps for Marc Gené to set a great time, in 1:45:214, to place the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP n°07 in pole position for the 12 Hours of Sebring. Nicolas Minassian, in the No. 908 08, set the second time (1:45:841), allowing Peugeot to do the double in qualifying, as expected. Stefan Mücke, on the Lola Aston Martin n°007, set the third time, not far from the second Peugeot, in 1:46??079.

In the Formula category Le Mans, the suspense responded. At the end of the qualifying session, it was ultimately Gunnar Jeannette (1:55:279) who set the best time, ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay, JR Hildebrand and Christophe Bouchut.

With the GT2 making up half of the field of cars present at Sebring, it is in this category that the uncertainty was greatest. With only two timed laps, it was the BMW E92 M3 of Dirk Müller (BMW Rahal Letterman) who set the best time, in 2:00:782, before being downgraded following technical checks.

In GT2, it is therefore the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Jorg Bergmeister which inherits the pole, thanks to the second time (2:01??150) during the session, ahead of the Porsche of Wolf Henzler, the Ferrari Jaime Melo's F430 and Jan's Chevrolet Corvette Magnussen.
