Tom Blomqvist joins the BMW Team RLL armada for 2019

On the sidelines of its end-of-season evening, Bmw motorsport has confirmed its 2019 programs, once again going through the WEC, the GT3 but also theIMSA, where the M8 GTLM / GTE debuted last year at the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida).

For the next campaign, the Munich brand has formalized the selected drivers with a structure similar to this year. Jesse Krohn and John Edwards, who drove the No. 24 year-round in 2018 will leave for a season, in the same way as Connor by Phillippi, resident of n°25.

One of the main changes comes from the arrival of Tom Blomqvist, son of the 1984 world rally champion, who should drive year-round in the No. 25 to replace Alexander Sims, now the holder. Formula E at BMW i Andretti.

Philipp Eng, Colton Herta, Chaz Mostert, and Alessandro Zanardi will support the holders in the endurance rounds, the latter having to debut in competition with the M8 at the 24 Hours of Daytona at the end of January.

Krohn and Edwards will be supported by Chaz Mostert and Alex Zanardi at Daytona, with the duo of Phillippi – Blomqvist expected to receive support from Eng and Herta in Florida.
