USC – New name and 2016 calendar revealed

Known as the Tudor United Sportscar Championship since 2014, the North American championship will change title sponsors in 2016. The calendar has also been revealed.

USC – New name and 2016 calendar revealed

Exit on Tudor United Sportscar Championship, name of the merger between ALMS and Grand-Am carried out last year, and welcome to IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship. The North American championship will indeed see its title sponsor change in 2016.

IMSA officials also unveiled the 2016 calendar on the sidelines of the Road America event which takes place this weekend. Twelve meetings will be on the program just like this season, no change to report in terms of the sleeves.

The season will begin on January 30 and 31 with the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) which will once again feature Sebring in Florida (March 19), Watkins Glen in New York state (July 3) and the final race of Little Le Mans in Georgia (October 1) the four events of the North American Endurance Cup.

All Prototypes, Prototype Challenge, GTLM and GTD categories will be in action each time, except in Long Beach (GTD absent), Detroit (GTLM absent), Lime Rock (Prototypes absent) and in Virginia, reserved for the two GT categories.
