WTSC – Ganassi debuts its Ford GT at Daytona

Ford's return to the stageEndurance in 2016 will be done on two fronts. On the other side of the Atlantic, the Ford GT's entry in the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship will be under the banner of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, whereas WEC, Multimatic Motorsports will collaborate with the Ganassi team for operation.

CGR began its tests yesterday on the Daytona track in Florida, at the same time as Multimatic continued its work started several months ago. Two cars were therefore on the track, a first.

“This is an impressive partnership between Ford, Multimatic and Ganassi, explains Mike Hull, Team Managing Director of Ganassi. The tests were as we expected. We already have a database from Multimatic, which helps with basic settings.

You are always too cautious on the first day of testing, you try to go over all the basics, before going out on track. We build a bank of information on all the good or bad decisions we make. Every time we come back, we are a little better. »

Scott Pruett
, entered this year in the No. 01 Riley-Ford of Ganassi in USC, was notably at the controls of the GTE.
