Lamborghini has formalized the first two drivers in the line-up of its LMDh program (Le Mans Daytona h). Unsurprisingly, Mirko Bortolotti, a sure bet for the Italian brand in recent seasons in Grand Touring and present at Le Mans in an LM P2 for Team WRT this season, will be there. He will be accompanied by his compatriot Andrea Caldarelli, another GT driver from the manufacturer in Taurus.

“We are particularly proud to announce that Mirko and Andrea will be the first pilots of the LMDh program, explains Giorgio Sanna, head of motorsport at Lamborghini. Both have contributed substantially to Lamborghini's historic results in GT racing and their addition to the LMDh project also rewards their continued commitment to the Squadra Corse family. I am sure that their talent and experience will be an additional asset for our competitiveness in the premier endurance category. »

“I am delighted to continue my journey with Lamborghini, Bortolotti commented, and begin an exciting new chapter with the LMDh. I am grateful to Lamborghini Squadra Corse for all the efforts put in to achieve this and for the unconditional trust they have placed in me since 2014. It is a huge honor and responsibility to represent the brand at the highest level of racing of endurance. and compete for overall victories in major endurance classics. »

“I am really happy to be part of the program, which is really fantastic, and in general of this new challenge of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Caldarelli added. In 2017, when I started racing for Lamborghini, I aimed to realize my childhood dream: to race with my favorite car brand in the most prestigious endurance races. I had the opportunity to race at the Circuit de la Sarthe in 2022, winning both rounds of Road to Le Mans with the Huracán GT3, and it was really special. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of an LMDh: I'm really excited about this new adventure, and I will do my best to bring all my experience to this project and win new and prestigious trophies. »
