Sarah Bovy made motorsport history in 2022. In addition to the two pole positions signed in WEC this season, at Monza and in Bahrain, making her the first polewoman in the history of the championship, the Belgian driver also won a historic victory at the 4 Hours of Portimão in the company of Dorian Pin and Michelle Gatting. The three women thus became the first female crew to triumph in European Le Mans Series.

“We worked a lot to achieve this victory, explains Sarah Bovy on the 24 Hours of Le Mans website. We thought it would arrive earlier in the season. The level of the European Le Mans Series was very high this year. Above all, we were relieved that this victory was finally here. We went to look for her in style. This will remain a superb memory. This success proves that a female crew is capable of seeking victories, whatever the level of motorsport. Despite everything, we must continue to work and not rest on our achievements. This victory does not constitute the aim of our project, but it is a great step. » The Brussels native demonstrated in 2022 that she was one of the fastest Bronzes on the field and she does not intend to stop there in 2023. Her schedule for next season, however, has not yet been completely decided.

For the Iron Dames, the programs guaranteed for next season are the GT World Challenge and theIMSA. “I don’t yet know my final program, admits Sarah Bovy. I don't know which crew I'm going to be part of, but so far I've trusted them and it's been pretty successful for me. Iron Lynx and Iron Dames are doing everything possible to try to have crews present at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in the World Championship.Endurance. I'm crossing my fingers because I really don't want to miss the Centenary edition. »

While waiting for Lamborghini in 2024, the Italian structure should rely on Porsche of Proton Competition to continue to roam the European circuits next season. The Belgian driver tested a German GT in Portimão with Michelle Gatting and Christina Nielsen, the day after the success of the Iron Ladies in the Algarve.
