24 Hours of Le Mans – H16: Alert for the #8 Toyota

The sun rises over Le Mans after 16 hours of racing! With 4 laps in advance, Toyota perfectly unfolds its plan to win the 89th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. To do this, you still have to spend the remaining 8 hours without incident. After 10 hours of effort, we found #7 still in the lead ahead of #8. The two Japanese cars are obviously on the same strategy but #7 maintains a significant advantage over its sister. Kazuki Nakajima also reported on the radio that he felt a problem with his Hypercar flanked by the number 8.
Behind theAlpine #36 took the lead over Glickenhaus #708 for third place on the podium. The second Glickenhaus, #709 climbs back painfully in the hierarchy and is now in 7th place overall.

In the LMP2 category, Team WRT continues to impress. The Belgian team places its two LMP2s in the first two positions. The #31 still maintains the leadership ahead of the #41 driven by Robert Kubica. They are now more than three minutes ahead of third in the LMP2 category, namely the #65 Panis Racing after a battle with the #28 Jota.

In the GTE Pro, the Ferrari #51 from the AF Corse team does not reduce the pace and increases its lead at the head of the category, which is now 1 minute 35 over the #63 Chevrolet from the Corvette Racing team. The top 3 is completed by the Porsche 911 from the Porsche GT Team with Frenchman Kevin Estre at the wheel.

In GTE Am, the #83 of the AF Corse team is still in the lead but suffered a drive-through penalty for exceeding the authorized speed in the pit lane. However, she maintains an advantage of one minute over the #33 of the TF Sport team. The #80 Iron Lynx completes the top 3 but is more than a lap behind the leader.

As the drivers enter the 16th hour of the race, fog appears on the Sarthe circuit.
