The 24 Hours of Le Mans 2021 d 'Alpine were not far from turning sour as we ventured a little deeper into the Le Mans night. So comfortably installed in 3rd position behind the Toyota, Mathieu Vaxiviere lost control of the A480 before the first Mulsanne chicane.
If a mechanical problem appeared to be at the origin of the incident, the French driver quickly reassured indicating that he had driven on a wet patch. Result ? A nice figure and a visit to the gravel trap. Having fallen in the rankings, the A-mounted horse is currently 5th, three laps behind the No. 7 Toyota, in the lead since the start of this 89 edition of the Le Mans event.
