We do not yet know, as a public question, what restrictions will be taken in September, for the 88th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (September 19-20). All information relating to welcoming the public and the activities that will be offered to them, more details will be given on June 30. But the ACO today revealed the new, very tight program for its racing week.
Overall, apart from the race of course, everything will be postponed by one day. The teams will take possession of the premises on Monday and Tuesday, the 62 competitors will undergo administrative and technical checks on Wednesday and the tests will be held on Thursday (with 10 hours of driving) and Friday morning.
The warm up will begin at 10:30 a.m. Departure is always set for 14:30 p.m.
« Well aware of the economic impact of the current situation for the teams and in order to limit the mobilization of resources over too long a period for them, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest has decided to reorganize the schedule of tests essential for the good preparation for everyone, as well as the qualifications, the new highlight of the Hyperpole, the warm up and the race, over 4 consecutive days, can we read in the press release. From Thursday to Sunday, all the essential events of the 88th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be held, with the level of welcome and quality required by this legend of motor racing. »
