24 hours of Le Mans – H+5: Toyota at the forefront, the CLM P1/01 ByKolles damaged

Toyota, G-Drive Racing, and Porsche are in control of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in their categories after five hours of racing, a fifth hour marked by the accident of the CLM P1/01 - ByKolles.

The fifth hour of the race 24 Hours of Le Mans was largely disrupted by the accident of the CLM P1/01 – Enso n°4 ByKolles, survenu dans les virages Porsche. Un contact avec la Porsche 911 RSR – Ebimotors a expédié le proto autrichien dans les murs de pneus, provoquant une interruption d’un peu plus d’une demi-heure.

La relance a été très animée dans le peloton, avec les deux Toyota TS050 Hybrid naviguant dans le peloton. Fernando Alonso did everything to stay in contact with the leader José Maria Lopez, taking certain risks by passing very close to the rails in the Hunaudières.

The Spanish driver finally took the advantage over the Argentinian at 19:54 p.m. and now has a 1″1 lead over the former WTCC world champion.

In LM P2, G-Drive Racing continues its march forward with Roman Rusinov at the helm of the category with the Oreca 07 n°26, which leads in front of theAlpine A470 n°36 – Signatech Alpine by Pierre Thiriet, second at 1'15”.

The top 3 is completed by the Ligier JSP 217 n°23 – Panis Barthez Compétition of Timothé Buret at 2'05”.

Kevin Estre remains a solid leader in GTE Pro, the No. 911 Porsche 92 RSR being the big winner of the safety car deployed following Gabriel Aubry's puncture. The Frenchman has a 1'38" lead over the #8 BMW M81 of Nick Catsburg, pursued by the two #911 and #93 Porsche 93 RSRs of Earl Bamber and Richard Lietz.

Note that the Ferrari 488 n°71 was heavily penalized, Miguel Molina not having respected the red light under the safety car when leaving the pit lane. 3′ from stop&go. The car was also pushed into its box at 20:00 p.m.

The #911 Porsche 77 RSR – Dempsey – Proton Racing, entrusted to Matt Campbell, retains control in GTE Am.
