33 cars and lots of people in WEC

That's it, we know the list of entrants at WEC 2021. A season supposed to begin on March 19 with the 1000 miles of Sebring, even if serious doubts hover over the Florida test.

In all, 33 cars are expected over the six rounds on the program, namely five in Hypercar, 11 in LM P2, four in GTE Pro and 13 in GTE Am. As expected, the two Pro-Am categories are the two most populated.

To remember in the premier category, the name of the ex-Rebellion R13 now that she has joined the clan Alpine. Unsurprisingly, it is the A480. The first driver announced is the Brazilian André Négrão.

The latter will notably scrap with two Glickenhaus 007 LMHs. The American team should secure the services of talented drivers, the first two formalized being Gustavo Menezes and Ryan Briscoe.

In LM P2 either, no surprises. There will be a total of one Ligier JS P217 – operated by ARC Bratislava – and ten Oreca 07s, including one for the Belgian WRT team, in accordance with what Vincent Vosse had entrusted to us on various occasions.

With a contingent of 10 cars in 2018-2019, the GTE Pro category will unfortunately be limited to a duel Ferrari-Porsche following the successive withdrawals of BMW, Ford and Aston Martin.

Finally, in GTE Am, three Aston Martin Vantage AMRs (including one lined up under the Aston Martin Racing banner) will cross swords with five Ferrari 488 GTE Evos and as many Porsche 911 RSR-19s, including one of the two entered by Dempsey -Proton Racing will be entrusted to Julien Andlauer.

If some boxes remain empty, there are few seats left to fill. The two 100% female crews are, however, known and, unsurprisingly, they are the same as those seen last year in ELMS. Sophie Flörsch, Beitske Visser and Tatania Calderon will take turns at the wheel of the No. 07 Oreca 1 of the Richard Mille Racing Team, while Rahel Frey, Manuel Gostner and Michelle Gatting will take turns in the No. 488 Ferrari 85 GTE Evo. 'Iron Lynx.
