Le Toyota Gazoo Racing continue sa fin de semaine parfaite à Sakhir. Après trois séances dominées par les bolides japonais, Brendon Hartley lifted the number 8 into pole position ahead of the sister car, driven by Kamui Kobayashi during these qualifications. A performance which erases the only hitch encountered by the team in the Bahraini desert, that of the accident with the Iron Lynx number 85. Above all, this allows the pursuers (Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima, Brendon Hartley) to take a point back from the championship leaders (Mike conway, Kamui Kobayashi, Jose Maria López).

“We did everything to put the car in the best possible terms, said the New Zealander. It's always exhilarating to own a car this good. The whole team did an incredible job to get it back into shape after the accident in Free Practice 2. It's very good in the title race to win this point which could be crucial. This weekend, it's all-out attack. Of course, keeping mutual respect between us but each guy wants to try to win the title. » On the starting line this Saturday at 10 a.m. (French time), only eight points will separate the two Toyotas in the general classification (120 to 112).
