Audi wins its final qualifications

Lucas di Grassi and Oliver Jarvis gave Audi its 16th and final pole by winning qualifying for the 6 Hours of Bahrain where the brand with the Rings competes in its final event in WEC. Les pilotes de la R18 n°8 ont réalisé un tour moyen en 1’39’’207 en devançant de deux dixièmes la Porsche n°1 de Timo Bernhard et Brendon Hartley.

La 919 Hybrid n°2 des leaders du Championnat Lieb-Jani-Dumas complètera la deuxième ligne devant la seconde Audi pilotée par Tréluyer-Fässler-Lotterer, tandis que les Toyota ferment la marche du classement des LMP1-H avec la TS050 Hybrid n°6 de Conway-Sarrazin-Kobayashi ahead of Davidson's No. 5-Buemi-Nakajima.

The Rebellion R-One of Tuscher-Imperatori-Kraihamer finished more than five seconds from pole, without being worried by the CLM01/P1 of ByKolles Racing entrusted to Trummer-Kaffer-Webb which did not take to the track .

G-Drive Racing took pole in LMP2 with the Oreca 05 of Rusinov-Rast-Brundle credited with a time of 1'49''672. The Anglo-Russian team beat theAlpine A460 n°36 of Stone-Richelmi-Menezes, while the leading trio in the category is completed by the #05 Manor Oreca 44 of Rao-Bradley-Lynn. The RGR Sport by Morand Ligier JS P2 of Senna-Albuquerque-Gonzalez placed fourth.

Darren Turner and Jonathan Adam took pole in GTE Pro at the 6 Hours of Bahrain. At the wheel of the #97 Vantage, the drivers Aston Martin set an average lap time of 1'56''953, a tenth ahead of the No. 95 sister car of Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen. There Ferrari 488 No. 51 by Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado completed the top three, four tenths from the benchmark. Penalized by a 20kg ballast compared to Shanghai (China), the No. 67 Ford GT of Harry Ticknell and Andy Priaulx finished more than nine tenths ahead of the second Ferrari of Davide Rigon and Sam Bird and the Ford GT no. °66 by Stefan Mücke and Olivier Pla.

The title is not yet decided in GTE Am since Perrodo-Collard-Aguas missed the bonus points for pole on the F458 n°83 of AF Corse which finished three tenths behind the Aston Martin n°98 of Lamy-Lauda-Dalla Lana on pole for the category.

The start of the 6 Hours of Bahrain will be given tomorrow from 14 p.m. the race will be broadcast live on L'Équipe 21, Motors TV and Eurosport.
