Pescarolo Sport has selected Peugeot as manufacturer for its Hypercar program in the WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

On December 2, Pescarolo Sport announced its objective of returning to WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024. The French structure even argued that a “ supply agreement with a Hypercar manufacturer » was about to be finalized. Contacted at the time, Jocelyn Pedrono, at the head of this project, preferred to keep secret the identity of the two builders with whom discussions had begun. This program nevertheless seemed to be heading towards an LMH. 

The French structure gave more details this Thursday, February 16 and even indicated that it had set its sights on Peugeot and its 9X8, which will begin its first full season in the World Championship.Endurance FIA this year. “Pescarolo Sport retained Peugeot Sport as a manufacturer for its WEC Hypercar 2024 program and has entered into important negotiations with major partners with a view to financing the season,” indicates the latest press release.

Contacted by AUTOhebdo, Peugeot Sport confirmed this information: “Pescarolo Sport contacted us a few months ago. After several discussions, Pescarolo Sport decided to set up a project to enter the WEC championship with a Peugeot 9X8. It is a source of pride that Pescarolo Sport has chosen our Hypercar. The project is evolving rapidly with selected partners and experienced people, we are ready to provide them with a 9×8 accompanied by the necessary technical support. We hope that the Pescarolo Sport project will take shape in 2024.”

Pescarolo Sport also indicated the arrivals of Joël Rivière and Bruce Jouanny. The first named will support Jocelyn Pedrono, owner of the structure, in managing the project. The second, Pescarolo Sport driver at the 24 2009 Hours of Le Mans, will be in charge of sporting development. 

As a reminder, Henri Pescarolo is not involved in this project.
