ByKolles Racing will be supplied by Nismo

ByKolles Racing will abandon its former engine manufacturer AER for Nismo in 2017. The team based in Greding (Germany) has entered into a partnership with the Japanese manufacturer to have its VRX 30A Evo, a 6l turbo 3° V60, which will be installed on the CLM01/P1.

“The entry of Nismo is very important for our team, commented Boris Bermes, operations director of ByKolles Racing. Having suffered many setbacks in the past due to engine reliability issues, we expect great progress in reliability and performance. »

The CLM/01 will also benefit from improvements to its chassis in addition to the new engine.

“Our CLM01/P1 will be reviewed in depth, underlined Boris Bermes. Nismo's twin-turbo engine will deliver its power to the rear wheels through a reliable Xtrac gearbox. We have constantly worked to improve the car. We will be able to optimize both the front and rear with the 2017 regulations, mainly in terms of aero. Our engineers managed to remove weight and made changes to the mechanical components. »

The final objective of ByKolles Racing will be to obtain a private LMP1 sufficiently efficient to open it to marketing for other private teams. “From 2018 the car will be available to customers and can already be ordered”, specified the director of operations.

The crews of the WEC will be revealed on Thursday February 2 during the ACO press conference.
